Spa specialist Izumi offers a 24K Gold Elixir created to deliver a lightweight, luminous glow with 24K gold flakes, and a blend of sweet almond, evening primrose jojoba and apricot kernel oils.

Mauloa Spa has opened its doors at the Aqua Aloha Surf Hotel, specializing in facials, body treatments, hand and foot care, eyelash extensions, and unique therapies from Asia such as an 80-minute, $148 exclusive face massage treatment called the “Izumi Method Therapy” developed by spa producer and skin specialist Izumi.

Within the 500-square-foot spa are two treatment rooms that can be expanded into a couples’ treatment suite, and a nail service area that accommodates up to three customers at a time.

Among the spa’s popular offerings are three rejuvenating facials that provide a variety of benefits including deep cleansing, hydration, and cellular oxygenation, with such optional add-ons as hydra oxygen, light photo therapy, and masks. Costs range from $128 to $220 for 50 to 60 minutes.

A Re-Balance Therapy face massage is also available, designed to melt away muscle tension while providing detoxification benefits. The 90-minute pampering session stimulates lymphatic flow, aiding in ridding the body of toxins.

Unique to the spa are Hawaiian healing options for the body. There are two lomilomi options, one incorporating Hawaiian herbs and another featuring a blessing and hoʻoponopono (Hawaiian practice of reconciliation) performed by a kumu (teacher), as well as a customized massage designed to ease muscle tension while stimulating circulation through special blend of aromatic essential oils and Hawaiian herbs. Prices range from $120 to $260 for 60 or 90 minute treatments.

Clients of Mauloa Spa have the option of creating their own massage blends with a choice of grapeseed, coconut or kuku almond oils and organic rosehips, organic rose petals, organic hibiscus or organic camomile.

If you’re short on time, there are 30-minute medium-pressure neck and shoulder therapy available for $58, and a 45-minute acupressure-based foot rub for $68.

Beauty enhancing treatments range from $48 to $150 for nail care, pedicures, and eyelash extensions.

Among products available for sale are high-performance products that include a 24K Gold Elixir and brightening masks.
