24 days of Christmas: Dog Mama

This beef jerky made for dogs is also fit for human consumption at Dog Mama. I tasted it, and it’s light and airy, and bland because you don’t want your pet to get bloated on salt and sugar.

ON THE 23RD DAY OF CHRISTMAS

There’s sure to be a doggie lover on your holiday shopping list, and Dog Mama is the place to go for treats for his or her furry friend.

The shop features an array of fruit-and-beef jerky, salmon jerky and other treats made of such quality, human food-grade ingredients that your giftee can also enjoy them with his or her pet.

A small 20-ounce bag of jerky runs about $10. Or get a 50-ounce container for about $15. (Note that for humans they may lack flavor because there is no salt, sugar or artificial additives that are not good for man’s best friend.)
In addition to regular offerings, daily specials might include turkey necks or Jidori chicken hearts. Most humans still don’t have the pleasure of enjoying this free-range chicken.

Dog Mama is at 1481 S. King St. Call 808.600.9300.
